M&S CHRISTMAS 2024: top 5 Accidentally gluten free Products

One of my favourite times of year is visiting M&S when the new Christmas items are out. The first signs of this are when everything in my local shop is all moved around and you can’t find any of your regular food! Shortly after, the shelves are packed with so much joy it is hard to know where to start. And the good news? Most of the gluten free delights are found beyond the ‘free from’ aisle as there are so many naturally gluten free products that we can enjoy. Here are some of my top 5 picks for Christmas 2024 - most of these are brand new and not seen in previous years. Stay tuned to see what makes it to my number 1 spot! All of these are either marked gluten free or have no ‘may contain’ disclaimers. M&S are great at adding a note if any item isn’t suitable for coeliacs or wheat allergy sufferers - great to have this peace of mind.

5. Hot honey caramel popcorn - yes please, I knew before trying that this would be so good. The popcorn that M&S do is super tasty and I love the experimental different coatings that they do. The only problem is when you find one you love and it won’t necessarily be around forever! You’ve just got to make the most of it right now :) Also I have spotted some coatings that have gluten in so keep an eye out.

4. Turkey curry crisps - who knew these were the crisps you needed in your life? These are super tasty and go great with a (M&S) gluten free sandwich. Definitely one to consume well ahead of Boxing Day!

3. The Christmas sandwich! Ok this isn’t accidentally gluten free but it has to go in my top 5. The Gluten free turkey feast sandwich is a staple of the M&S Food offering at this time of year. Even though I actually don’t like turkey that much, I love this sandwich and it is definitely the most excitingly-filled sandwich out of all of those out there. The only thing I would say is I’d love to see a different sandwich after a few years of this being the offering. I remember once a brie and grape one - sounds pretty tasty!

2. Milk chocolate & cinnamon tortilla rolls - I’ve never seen or tried a snack like these before. Whilst they sound a bit bizarre and you do wonder if you are in fact eating a rolled up tortilla crisp, give them a go because they are super tasty and unique. The chocolate that the tortillas are wrapped in reminds me of the cinnammon-y chocolate that you dip churros in. They are very more-ish and a lovely Christmas (/late-October onwards!) snack.

1. My number one spot has to go to these hot honey pigs in blankets crisps. I am on a hot honey obsessive phase as the moment, and the good news is M&S also appears to be going through the same phase! These are the best crisps I’ve ever tasted and I’m happy they are naturally gluten free. They have a smokey depth to them - almost like a cross between Christmas and Bonfire Night in a snack - a must try. I’ll be checking how long they last and then also buying some bags to take me well into Spring 2025!
